He was the Managing Director and CEO of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. First Chief Executive of a public sector corporation in Bangladesh from the Accounting profession. He was a fellow member of the Institute of Cost & Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB), a fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accounts of the UK, and an elected Council Member of ICMAB. He was the Chairman of the PATA Bangladesh Chapter and President of SAFA.
He was considered as Mr. Rules of Procedure in Parliament due to his ample knowledge of the running of a House of Parliament. He was the Past District Governor of Rotary International, Bangladesh.
After achieving a Master’s in Geology from Dhaka University, Mr. Rahman’s enterprising career spanned from being a Civil Service Officer in the then erstwhile East Pakistan Cabinet, Admin head in Biman for being a pioneering entrepreneur in the Freight, Travel, and Aviation Industry in Bangladesh. Fondly called the Father of the Freight Forwarder Industry, Mr. Reza was the Founding President of the Bangladesh Freight Forwarders Association. An avid reader, he used to travel miles across the border to fetch the most sought-after publishings in literature, biographies, etc., particularly in the Bengal Literary Circle. His love for making friends everywhere was reflected in serving the most prestigious Dhaka Club for 2 consecutive terms as President. Last but not the least, he was a great sports enthusiast, his passion for golf resulted in him achieving the rare feat of Hole in One!
